“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:7-11 KJV

A Savior. One who saves. One who brings healing, deliverance, protection, and prosperity to people! Remember, those are all things that are included in the definition of the Greek word sozo which is translated as “saved” or “salvation” in the King James translation of the Bible.

Salvation is not merely what Jesus does however, it is literally Who He is! Look at Matthew 1:21.

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” – Matthew 1:21 KJV

In my reference edition of the King James Version of the Bible, there is a number next to the capitalized name JESUS. The cross reference for that name is “Saviour” because, as the verse goes on to explain, He shall SAVE (heal, deliver, protect and prosper) His people!

It doesn’t stop with just His people though! Look at John 3:17.

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” – John 3:17 KJV

Not only does Jesus make salvation available to “His people” but He provides this healing, deliverance, protection and prosperity to the whole world!

Every man, woman, boy and girl on this planet has access to this salvation package through Jesus. Even if a person doesn’t know, or is confused about, which one of those categories to which they belong, if they will come to Jesus with an open heart and accept Him as their Savior and make Him Lord of their lives, then the entire salvation package is immediately available to them!

During the Christmas season, the season set aside to celebrate the birth of the One who brought us salvation, I want to encourage you to press into these things contained in our salvation package and keep them in your mind. For millions and millions of people (some studies say around 50% of the entire population), satan has been able to turn this time of year into a time of depression, anxiety and fear. This is the exact opposite of what God wants for us!

As Partners, you know that the Lord gave us very specific instructions to unmask fear and teach concerning victory over it through applying love and the principles in the Word of God throughout this entire year.

Especially in this season, I would like to point out something which the Scripture is very clear about but which is often just read over without paying much attention. Let’s go back over to Luke chapter 2 and verses 7-10.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not:” – Luke 2:7-10 KJV

The VERY FIRST words spoken during the Heavenly announcement of Jesus’ birth were FEAR NOT! Had you ever noticed that before?

Why should they not have any fear? Because the very One Who was bringing healing from mental disease, deliverance from depression, protection from mental anguish and anxiety and the prosperity of peace of mind was just born into this earth! The Savior was here and there was no way satan could stop God’s salvation plan!

It is absolutely no coincidence that one piece of our armor that God has given us to be successful in this life is the helmet of salvation! The HELMET protects the head! The helmet is worn ON the head!

Keep your salvation package ON YOUR MIND at all times! Think about all the parts of your salvation constantly!

As you meditate on the various parts of your salvation package, and all the things you have learned about it during this year’s war on fear, you’ll understand why this was such good tidings of GREAT joy!

You will want to shout and praise God saying, “Glory to God in the highest and on earth, in my life, there is peace and good will because Jesus is my Savior!”
