I am reminded of something my spiritual father told me. He said that Oral Roberts taught him, “When it comes to ministry, seek ways to meet the needs of the people!”

As I look around, and as people have reached out to us over these last months, it is quite evident that one of the greatest needs of the people right now is healing in their bodies, peace in their minds and reassurance that they can be safe and protected from the onslaught of sickness and disease!

With that being said, this month we are sending the Word of God to you with a very specific purpose – healing and deliverance!

Also, I am asking you to do something. If you know of someone who needs healing, deliverance and peace, please forward this blog to them! Make copies of it and mail it to people. Preach it to people over the phone! Whatever it takes to meet the needs of the people!

Let’s look at Psalm 107 and see what the Lord has to say about this . . .

“Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, And he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.” – Psalm 107:19-20 KJV

Notice here that the very purpose of God sending His Word to us is to heal us and deliver us! I like the way the New Living Translation says it, “He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.” – Psalms 107:20 NLT

To snatch us from the very door of death! It is never too late and nobody is “too far gone” for the Word to deliver them! This is the very purpose and intent of God sending His Word to us!

Now look at Isaiah chapter 55!

“So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” – Isaiah 55:11 AMPC

WOW! That is a powerful, bold statement! Why would the Lord be so adamant about this? It is because He takes this very personally! This is His Word – the reflection of His character! We can see just how seriously He takes it over in Jeremiah.

“Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.” – Jeremiah 1:12 AMPC

In reality, He MUST be active and alert concerning it – His very Name is on the line!

“I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.” – Psalms 138:2 NLT

My Lord! All the honor of THE Name that is above every other name! The name of THE Almighty God!

So, when you see things like what He says in Proverbs 4:20-22 KJV, “My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, And health to all their flesh.” then you must KNOW (not just be acquainted with it) that He will watch over that Word that He sent to us and make sure it happens because His very name is on the line!

We have looked at God’s part and it is, as they say, “iron clad!” There is, however, another part – your part. Don’t worry though, your part is very simple – believe and act like the Bible is true! Hebrews chapter 4 tells us that the Word won’t work unless it is mixed with faith and faith, simply put, is just acting like the Bible is true!

So now when you see in Isaiah 53:4-5 KJV, “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” then you know of a truth that He has delivered you from grief and sorrow, He has given you peace for your mind and provided healing for your body! You’ll notice in Proverbs 4, that we looked at previously, the healing is specifically for your “flesh” so don’t let anyone try to convince you that this does not mean physical healing!

Finally, lets look at what God says about protection and safety in His Word. His Word that He sent for the purpose of healing and deliverance. His Word that He watches over to make sure It accomplishes It’s purpose. His Word that is backed by all the honor of His name.

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold And see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, Even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, And shew him my salvation.” – Psalm 91:1-16 KJV

Every verse talks about healing and deliverance, deliverance and healing! That is what His Word does and why He sent it to YOU!
