It is amazing how many Christians have no concept or spiritual vision that the LORD is on their side!
For multiple generations, people have been taught that the LORD is their problem. He’s the One who will hurt or punish if they get even a little out of line. But nothing could be further from the truth. The LORD, because of His great hesed-agape love, created mankind because He wanted a family (Exodus 4:22; Romans 8:15; 2 Corinthians 6:18; Hebrews 2:11).
He created them in His own image, gave them everything from inside Himself, and provided all they and their descendants would ever need! He gave them dominion over the planet He had created just for them and invited them to fellowship daily with Him on His level (Genesis 3:8; Exodus 33:11; Isaiah 1:18; Hebrews 4:16; James 2:23).
When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, and were joined to their new, evil, and terroristic lord, God put into motion a plan of redemption that would rescue fallen mankind and forever rejoin them with Him in His vast hesed-agape — His unconditional, covenant love. He sent His precious Son, part of Himself to die as the spotless sacrifice to satisfy the demands of eternal justice and pay the price for man’s treason.
The resurrected Son of the living God destroyed the devil and his dominion and paid the price for enslaved mankind to receive eternal freedom from the bondage of sin, sickness, disease, fear, poverty and death (Hebrews 2:14-15)!
God’s hesed-agape love and grace restored their fellowship and welcomed access to His throne of grace through faith and acceptance of the redemptive work of their covenant Brother (verse 11). In light of all He has done for us, is God our problem?
A thousand times no!!
He is the everlasting ANSWER and our eternal Father to whom we can run with hearts full of love and gratitude, crying, “ABBA, Father!”
Because of His great love and provision for our safety (Psalm 91; Hebrews 1:14), He has commanded us to not fear. In Isaiah 43:1-3 the LORD gives us strong reason to refuse to receive it: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you: I have called you by your name; you are mine. When you pass through waters, I will be with you. And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame kindle on you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior!”
There is no fear in God’s love!
Fear connects us to satan the same way faith connects us to our Father. Fear is foreign to the born again human spirit. So, as an act of our wills, we must stand against it. The strongest statement in the English language is, “I will.” It indicates a strong decision and determination that it will be this way and no other. Believers must use the force of their wills and declare in the face of whatever the devil throws at them, “I will not fear!”
After all, if God be for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:310!
The spirit of fear does not have the power nor the right to usurp authority over human beings who have made Jesus LORD and decided to live without it. In light of these words and the strength of His eternal covenant hesed-agape that completely casts out fear (1 John 4:18), we can confidently declare,
“THE LORD IS ON MY SIDE. I WILL NOT FEAR!”
