It seems from time to time that the topic of generational curses surfaces and satan is able to make a big deal of it.
Allow me to make this clear and then I’ll show it to you in the Scriptures. The concept of generational curses having an effect on a believer’s life is just exactly as big of an absolute nothing as satan is himself. The scripture says in Hebrews 2:14 AMPC that Jesus brought the devil to absolute nothing (he’s a ZERO) and made him of no effect whatsoever. It says he HAD (past tense) the power of death…but not anymore!
When you got born again, your spiritual DNA ceased to exist and it was recreated into something completely new and different (2 Cor 5:17). You are now born again not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible – the very Word of God! (1 Peter 1:23). You have no previous heritage other than God’s and you know that doesn’t carry a curse with it!
Hebrews 5:9 really spells it out however where the Bible tells us, “And being made perfect, he (Jesus) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.” The key to the discussion of generational curses lies in that word “eternal.” Most people read that word and immediately picture their salvation taking hold from the time they receive Jesus as Lord of their lives and stretching forward through time throughout eternity. That is true but it is incomplete!
That Greek word translated “eternal” is aionios and, according to Strong’s Concordance, it means “perpetual (also used of past time, or past and future as well): – eternal, for ever, everlasting, world (began).”
Let’s look at another passage where that very same word is used. Hebrews 13:20, 21 says, “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the EVERLASTING covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen”
When you receive Jesus as your Lord, you enter into an EVERLASTING covenant through His very own blood! The word “everlasting” is aionios again and it means that your covenant of salvation extends not only forward in time but back throughout time to before the world began glory to God!
There is no previous generational curse that is more powerful than the blood of Jesus!
It’s already been erased by the blood and eradicated from the record books!
Here’s the catch through: just as your salvation had to be received by faith once you understood what was being offered, so does the enforcement of it’s power and manifestation.
Pray this, “Father, I see that You have provided eternal salvation for me! My everlasting covenant erased any past generation’s curses and closed any open doors to the devil in my life. I now receive the reality of my eternal salvation through the blood of Jesus and this case is closed! Satan, your influence in my life is now over! I plead the blood of Jesus over my life, He has made you a zero in my life. Now you flee from me in Jesus Name!”
