What is faith in the blood of Jesus?

It is faith in the righteousness given to us through the blood Jesus shed on Calvary’s cross for us. Through faith in the redemptive power of His eternal blood, His mighty Spirit comes to indwell us, bringing us new birth (John 14:17).

We are made new creatures in Christ Jesus, given right-standing with Him and the ability to come before His throne of grace without a sense of condemnation or guilt (2 Corinthians 5:17; Hebrews 4:16; Galatians 4:6).  Our souls – mind, will and emotions – are “sprinkled from an evil conscience,” delivered from torment and set free by His blood and the washing of the water of His WORD (Hebrews 10:22).

Notice however that in order to be washed by the Word you have to be IN it!

Through faith in His blood we “have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, ‘ABBA, Father.’ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirits that we are the children of God” (Romans 8:15-16).  By faith in His blood we are no more servants but sons – “heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ” (verse 17). The covenant blood not only washes us from sin, but it also purchased our complete redemption – spirit, soul, and body.

And by the blood that flowed from His wounds, our bodies are healed and restored. On the same day He bore our sins, He carried our sicknesses, disease, weaknesses, pains, and torment in His own body on the Cross (Isaiah 53:4-5; 1 Peter 2:24). The Great Exchange could only be possible through the covenant blood of Calvary’s Cross.

Our victory depends on faith in His blood!

We overcome the wicked one by “the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony” (Revelation 12:11).

The Apostle John wrote, “Whatsover is born of God overcometh the world and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4). Faith in What? Faith in the covenant blood that gives us the “authority [power] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).

All of heaven backs faith in the blood of Jesus!

For it was by His own blood that Jesus cleansed the mercy seat in Heaven of the disastrous effects of Adam’s treason (Hebrews 9:23-26) and canceled the handwriting of the ordinances [the judgements] that were agains us (Colossians 2:14).

And it is by faith in the shed blood of Jesus we are forever justified – made righteous and holy by the everlasting blood of the covenant that cries out for mercy!
